A 70-year-old Oakland Gardens woman was charged with attempted assault for poisoning her husband.

Suncha Tinevra, of 223rd Place, was arraigned at Queens Criminal Court Friday night on charges of attempted assault, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon.

Tinevra allegedly spiked her husband’s coffee with insect killer on two or three occasions. He was sickened by the poison, but survived.

She was seen on video surveillance squeezing a white powdery substance from a bottle into her husband’s coffee on Jan. 12, according to the Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz.

Two days later, the same bottle was retrieved by detectives from under the sink. Its label indicated that it was 100 percent boric acid that is used to kill ants and roaches, the charges state.

Her next court date is March 10. If convicted, she faces up to four years in prison.

“Domestic violence is not limited to mental and physical abuse,” Katz said. “The defendant in this case allegedly used deception to sicken her spouse.”
