Mar. 22, 2024 By Bill Parry Detectives at the 113th Precinct in Jamaica are investigating a fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man in Springfield Gardens on Thursday. Police responded to a 911 call of a shooting victim at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center just before 10:30 p.m., where they were met by medical personnel who told them that the victim had been transported there by private means with a gunshot wound to his chest. Felony assault cases have increased in both northern and southern Queens for the 28-day period from Nov. 20 through Dec. 17, compared to the same 28-day period last year.
