During the 28-day period from Dec. 25 to Jan. 21, the number of reported rapes went down 20% in northern Queens, from 15 reported cases last year to 12 this year. Jan. 19, 2024 By Bill Parry The Springfield Gardens man who became the target of a citywide NYPD manhunt on Wednesday for a two-day stabbing spree in southeast Queens was criminally charged with attempted murder and faces up to 90 years in prison if convicted. Jan. 17, 2024 By Ethan Marshall The amount of reported cases of robberies and felony assaults across Queens have each risen over the last month compared to the same period of time a year ago, according to the latest crime stats released by the NYPD Monday. During the 28-day period from Dec. 18 to Jan. 14, reported robberies have increased 51.3% in northern Queens, from 117 cases the previous year to 177 this year.
