Bloods Gang Member Shot Dead on Jamaica Sidewalk Sunday

A 30-year-old reputed gang member was fatally shot outside a house in Jamaica Sunday.

Police responded to a 911 call of a shooting in front of 165-21 85th Ave. at around 7:25 a.m. yesterday morning.

Upon arrival, cops discovered the victim, Roberto Borrego, unconscious and unresponsive on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds to his torso and back, according to police.

EMS responded and pronounced Borrego dead at the scene, police said.

Borrego, from Lefferts Boulevard in Kew Gardens, was a Bloods gang member who had prior arrests for possession of controlled substances, cops said.

Police did not reveal a motive for the slaying.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

The defendants are charged in nine separate indictments for a total of 373 counts, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced on Thursday.
