Man Killed by Fire in His Rosedale Home

A man is dead after a fire broke out inside his Rosedale home Wednesday night, authorities said.

The FDNY received a call at around 11:50 p.m. about a blaze inside 257-54 147th Ave.

Fire fighters brought the fire under control by 12:36 a.m. but found a 56-year-old man within the house unconscious and unresponsive. EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.

The victim’s name has yet to be released pending family notification.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
