During the 28-day period from Dec. 25 to Jan. 21, the number of reported rapes went down 20% in northern Queens, from 15 reported cases last year to 12 this year. Jan. 19, 2024 By Bill Parry The Springfield Gardens man who became the target of a citywide NYPD manhunt on Wednesday for a two-day stabbing spree in southeast Queens was criminally charged with attempted murder and faces up to 90 years in prison if convicted.
