Woman, 37, Fatally Shot in East Elmhurst, One of Four Queens Shootings in Two Days

A woman was shot dead outside a house in East Elmhurst Saturday, according to police.

Police responded to a call at around 3:35 p.m. that a woman had been shot in front of 32-17 97th Street. Upon arrival, officers from the 115th Precinct discovered the woman, 37, with gunshot wounds to her abdomen.

She was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals / Elmhurst, where she was pronounced deceased. Police have not yet released the name of the victim and there have been no arrests.

The killing was one of several shootings to have taken place in Queens during the first two days of 2021.

There was a triple shooting outside the Umbrella Hotel in Kew Gardens on Jan. 1 that left a 20-year-old man dead and two others injured.

There was also a drive-by shooting at Queens Plaza South in Long Island City on Jan. 1, which left two men wounded.

Additionally, a man was shot in the shoulder during a home invasion on 212th Street in Queens Village just before 6 a.m. on Jan. 2.
